It’s Competition Time!SCSToastmasters2

Speech preparation is well underway at South Coast Speakers Toastmasters, as members prepare for Wednesday’s ‘International Speech and Evaluation’ contest. First and second placed competitors will continue to a district contest; topped ranked speakers at the district level have an opportunity to move on to statewide events.

At Wednesday’s Toastmasters meeting, competitors in the International contest will present a 5-7 minute speech on a topic of their choosing whilst evaluation contestants will critique a ‘test’ speech provided by a visiting judge.SCSToastmasters1 The contest is the second for the club and follows a ‘Humorous and Table Topics’ event, which was held on 27 August. Five competitors spoke in each category at the last event with Heather Earle and Kelvin Wilson (Humorous) and Gaetan Nemorin and Barry Dickins (Table Topics) moving on to the district level event.
