South Coast Toastmasters will be undertaking two speech contests in the coming weeks:
On Wednesday 11th September we will be facilitating a “Humourous and Evaluation Contest”. Then at our following meeting on Wednesday 25th of September we will be conducting an “International & Table Topic” contest.
All members of South Coast Toastmasters are invited to participate in the contest, however it should be noted that the “International” component is only eligible to members that have completed six speeches or more.
New members are invited to participate in all other areas. Please complete the survey below to indicate which contest events you would like to participate in.

South Coast Toastmasters has also been invited to judge at competitions in surrounding areas. If you are available to judge, please indicate which date/s you can attend in the same survey. Judging provides a great opportunity to meet other toasties and see how different clubs operate.
It is time to prepare for your our next meeting: Are you ready for your next prepared speech? Make sure that you keep yourself motivated with plenty of inspiration from other speakers or a topic that moves and inspires you! Something that interests you or something that has/is happened/happening in your life.
Touch base with our VPE (Angela) and have a good chat with your mentor to see what projects could both pleasing and challenging you!
We are expecting our Area Governor: Walter Steckis to join us and present a speech at our next meeting which is very exciting indeed.
Other news are that contest time is almost here. Please take note of the following dates and start thinking about participating. Contests are always great fun and high energy events. This is where you can overcome all your fears:
Wednesday, 28th August 2013: Humorous and Evaluation speech contest

To be eligible to compete in any official Toastmasters speech contest, a member must:
Be a member in good standing of the club, area, division, and district in which he or she is competing:
- The club must also be in good standing.
- A new, dual, or reinstated member must have dues and membership application current with World Headquarters.
In addition, to be eligible to compete in the International Speech Contest, a member must have completed:
