This is a special night with a special theme: Olympic games.
We celebrate the achievements of the club in the last year (2011/2012) and welcome the new committee into the new year. The format of this night is slightly different to our meetings and we will have dinner with some impromptu speaking activities as well as a couple of prepared speeches.
It’s a dress up night too. Wear your favorite Olympic outfit. Have fun with it and don’t be shy. We want to enjoy this night and make the most out of it. We urge you to arrive before 7.00pm to organise a drink at the bar and take your seats for a start at 7.00pm. As usual, we meet at the San Remo Hotel in San Remo.
If you are coming along to this night, please contact us (Cheryl on 0427 700 270) and let us know, how many people and which menu you are choosing:
- Medallion Chicken Breast filled with Fetta & Roasted Pepper Strips – topped with Tzatziki and served with Potato and Vegetables (celebrate with Dessert: Apple & Berry Strudel)
- Award winning Cajun Mullaway Cutlets grilled with Fries & Salad (celebrate with Dessert: Apple & Berry Strudel)
The cost for this Award Winning Dinner is just $26.00 (payable on the night).
Looking forward to meeting you there.
Greg Cain has been awarded the Advanced Communication Bronze Award
South Coast Speakers proudly presents Greg Cain with his Advanced Communication Bronze Award. This award is part of the first series of the Advanced Communication manuals. Greg had to complete 10 speeches of various topics including humorous or entertaining presentations or speeches for special occasions such as eulogies or selling a product or a service.
South Coast Speakers congratulates Greg on this achievement and is looking forward to more moving, inspiring and humorous presentations.
Rhonda Jobe presenting Trudy Jamieson with her award
It’s with great pleasure that Trudy Jamieson (President) was presented with the award of Competent Leadership at last night’s meeting. The competent leadership manual contains 44 projects of various roles that need to be completed. Trudy has put a lot of time and effort in achieving this award and it’s the first of its kind in our club history! It’s a great achievement for South Coast Speakers Toastmasters and it’s part of 5 achieved goals in the ‘Distinguished Club Program’ (Education, Membership and Officer Training), which will be achieved this year (end of June 2012).
South Coast Speakers is a welcoming, friendly, diverse, inspired and fun club! Put don’t take it from me, swing by and check it out.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday 27th June 2012 with a slightly different program as it’s our change over night!
In the hopes of reaching the moon men sometimes fail to see the flowers that blossom at their feet. Albert Schweitzer
Albert Schweitzer - an inspiring figure!
How beautifully described by Albert Schweitzer. Albert Schweitzer OM Order of Merit (14 January 1875 – 4 September 1965) was a German and then French theologian, organist, philosopher, physician, and medical missionary.
At Southcoastspeakers we don’t only practice our public speaking, communication and leadership skills, we also learn from others. For instance, Albert Schweitzer could be the topic of one of your prepared speeches and hence, every one that will be present, will learn about it as well. It’s wonderful, because it’s not only entertainment and fun, but it’s also good for broadening the horizon.
We found that other people inspire us most to both – achieve and succeed!
Our next meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday at 7.30pm sharp at the San Remo Hotel, San Remo, VIC, Australia.
We can’t wait to meet you!
